One thing to add ... once you have the CAT control setup properly, you should change bands via WSJT-X, as it will control the band changes on the rig, not the reverse. Neil, KN3ILZ On 9/12/2018 6:15 PM, Don Wilhelm wrote: Richard, You must have communications between WSJT-X and the K3S in

Richard, You must have communications between WSJT-X and the K3S in order for WSJT-X to know the band that is selected on the K3S. A standard USB cable is all you need between the computer and the K3S. Be certain you do not accidentally try to plug it into the RJ-45 jack because that will

To my knowledge you only need a USB cable like used with a printer to connect between the USB port on the radio and the USB port on your computer.  In the radio CONFIG menu set the RS232 value to USB.  You do not use the RS-232 port on the radio.   See page 18 of the K3S manual. The remainder

Richard, If you want to have the software application know the band and frequency that the K3S is working, you must establish communications between that application and the K3S. With the K3S, that is accomplished over the USB connection between the computer and the K3S. So you must tell the

Can't speak for a MAC but you should be using WSJT-X version 1.9.1.  Yes, the K3S should follow the WSJT band/frequency changes.    And when I change frequency or band on my K3S, the WSJT-X software changes frequency/band accordingly. I use a single cable between my K3S and computer.  This is

Yes, that will work Richard. I connect the K3s to my Mac mini via the Elecraft supplied USB to USB cable. It does not go to the RS232 on the K3s. If you already have the K3s and the MAC connected via the USB cable then you just need to select the correct port on the WSJT-X configuration. If
