I'm Jim Nelson, executive director of Yorba and technical lead of Geary. I've
been communicating a little bit with Daniel about the future of Geary. He

Firstly, I consider conditional compilation to be a fringe case; an
exception to the rule, not the rule itself. Accordingly, CMake/autotools
should only be used when necessary, IMO. And even then, conditional
compilation *can* be achieved in a variety of ways without needing to
resort to CMake (gcc

And Autotools is even more of pain to use and a nightmare to maintain.

Guys, if you think this haven't been brought up in the list or that we're
not aware of that experiment, you're mistaken.
I also advice you to read something on the methodology of user testing
before jumping to conclusions.
