I am not helpful here, but would simply like to add that I would also
love an answer to this, as well as times when italics don't seem to work
around periods and commas, like "and /then,/ well, ..." (which does not
italicize for me on emacs 24.5.1, org 8.2.1).

Sffms is located on CTAN (which I'm learning about as I write
this!). I'm running Ubuntu, and believe I have TexLive installed, but
have never tried its package management system.

A program called pdfTex produces a buffer with extensive output,
including:

This seems like some markup that should probably be included in my file
automatically as part of the export? Shoud I add "/begin{document}" to
my org doc?

And it won't go through any kind of visibility cycle. I've tried [TAB]
and shift+TAB, and shift+arrowkey, and don't get any response. Using
emacs 24.3.1 and org 7.9.3f. What am I doing wrong?

LYPOND #END_SRC (and even then, I doubt what
would happen.)
Maybe the answer is "You just have to get used to the way things are,"
which is fine--even that would at least get me thinking about other
problems.

Back in my mac-user days I used a program called "Scrivener" that would
renumber chapters on the fly if I dragged them to new positions. I think
I was missing that functionality a little, but now that I think about
it, I shouldn't miss it. It didn't add anything. My next project will be
