The newest beta version of EmbPerl 2.0.7 seems to have major testing problems when I tried to install it. Also, both of my installs failed miserably when using Solaris cc vs. Gnu gcc. Lastly, the default parameter for module/loadable code -KPIC seems less portable than the -fPIC I've seen on
