TNV-1 vs SELV for unit with Outdoor Coaxial Cable Connection

1998-12-01 Thread Peter Merguerian
Dear All, A CO equipment with a 48 Vdc nominal supply has coxial cable connection to an outdoor transmitter. I have the following questions: 1. The coaxial cable output is conductively connected to the input. It carries the same voltage and an amperage of 1 A (limited to 3 A max). Assuming

Thought this might be of interest to a few of my friends in the EMC-PSTC group. [actually, given the location, I think it would be of interest to everyone. Its just that only a few of you may be component packaging experts.] I have no formal association with this group other than being on

Hi Doug: The picture shows three wires. I assume this is a DELTA configuration, since a WYE configuration requires four wires. I agree with you that most power distribution is the DELTA configuration. I suppose one might claim that the fourth conductor of the WYE is the ground. I would

As far as Schaffner is concerned, see Page 12 of their new EMC products catalog (690-505A/6/98) concerning their emCell. If clearly says; under Emission testing TEM-Cell products have limited applicability to radiated testing, as it is very difficult to correlate near-field measurements with

Portable EMC Site

We are thinking about building a portable pre-compliance EMC site. Has anyone had any experience with this? Also does anyone know of vendors that we can obtain a portable ground plane and a portable electric turntable. We will probably want to measure at 3 meters and we have not yet looked at

emc test cells

1998-12-01 Thread Hans Vigne
Hi folks, A question regarding EMC testing in so called test cells (like the emCell from Schaffner or the S-Line from Rhode Schwarz). I thought that those cells (based on the TEM Cell theory) are not suited for emission testing because the small dimensions give near field readings. But

This was regard passivated zinc chromate plating on steel: there are two common classes, one is more durable in terms of cosmetic protection but results in very poor galvanic continuity between mechanically mating parts and thus is not suitable where EMI considerations are concerned. This class

Don, The yellow... could mean a yellow chromate film(coating) on aluminum metal(for example) applied for corrosion protection. The advice not to used is because of the high impedance. The film EMC people use is clear because of the low impedance. For yellow, purple, etc there is good corrosion
