Good Day
I had a very similar inquiry last week, I received addresses to about 6
sites where one could retrieve text files of CFR's. I just finished
researching (hunting through)them. The best (my opinion) one seems to be:

The following US locations have laws requiring Listing for domestic

I have also heard that Chicago, New York City and some cities located on the
west coast (earthquake territory) also have law

It seems that this only applies to OSHA, which I understand to apply to work
places only.
Is there a regulation requiring UL type approvals for devices that are for
home use only?

The first thing to do is to make sure that the oscilloscope is on a clean
power source. Make sure that it is plugged into a branch circuit different
from the ESD test equipment.
Next, reduce the length of the ground lead. Even if you are using the
shortest ground clip available with the scope,
The LISN drawing attached is from A.Pomilio's web page at
www.dsce.fee.unicamp.br/~atenor/htmlfile . L1,C1 and R1 are added for
measurements below 150Khz. It isn't obvious, but an LISN filter section is
expected on both lines. The unmeasured line should be terminated on the
output of R3 with 50 ohm
Hello all, first off I would like to thank all who responded to my inquiry
about the EMC program offered by UMR, I am looking into enrolling further
now.
I am now looking for any pointers from those more experienced than I. I

A few little questions here:
A lot of discussion has gone on about the certification/listing of products
in the US and the conclusion seems to have been drawn that there is a
requirement - if not by law then by customer expectation - that products
sold in the US should be listed through a
Hi Mat,
Why fax it? The 29CFR Part 1910 Subpart S can be found online at:
http://www.osha-slc.gov/OshStd_toc/OSHA_Std_toc_1910_SUBPART_S.html
Look into 1910.399 to start.
Best wishes to you all and I hope you all have a very wonderful holiday
season.

Hello Mat,
Chances are that no one is going to fax this to you due to its size.
However, all is not lost ...
Just visit the Safety Link and search on the term
"1910", or, just look for the "OSHA" acronym in the first section of this
site and you will fine one adjacent to "29 CFR 1910".
Does anyone have a copy of the 29CFR Part 1910 Subpart S they can fax me?
I need to see this law.
Mat

Hi Brian Harlowe,
I'm not aware of a "EU Legislation" that says a company can't service or
maintain purchased equipment. Our company is in the same situation as you
are: we manufacture laboratory equipment and sell it world wide. We also
test our products to EN61010 which is not as strict in thes

This question came up, because we thought we bought a GOLDEN EMC PC for testing

This is obviously very difficult in some situations.

Apart from what is in EN/IEC 60825-1, are there any health and safety
regulations or guidelines for the safety of employees in UK/Europe assembling

helpful information on this topic?

I use the CATC model HBP USB production tester from Computer Access
Technology Corp. Check them out at http://www.catc.com/. It's relatively
inexpensive. But I'll warn you in advance. I had to filter the DC power port
on the device in order to quiet the radiated emissions. Other than that,
Hi Folks

his very useful comments to my e.mail. Obviously the military/defence
situation is somewhat different as he states but maybe there is some
guidance there.

Hi folks

someone else can identify the EU legislation to which he refers.
His comments are particularly to companies like ours who supply mainly to a

Hello,
I would ask for some information about Emission testing of a desk top PC with a
USB bus.
In the standards (EN55022 and FCC/ANSI C63.4) is given a PC test set-up and the
explanation that on all on connections a device must be connected in normal
use.
My question is how must be tested a
