[PSES] Cable current clamp with 4-20mA output

2017-12-07 Thread Amund Westin
I’m looking for a low cost cable current clamp for 50/60Hz current measurements and with 4-20mA output. Snap-on mechanism is a must. It should be a really «low cost» device, since the numbers of clamps in a large building can be 10++, maybe 100. Any recommendations? Best regards Amund

Interesting. The test engineer at the NRTL (not UL) I always work with always says we (the lab and the client) must always apply sound engineering judgment when applying standards when something isn’t completely clear or straightforward in the standard. And this lab is always making sure their

This is, I think, an informed source and it defines “pilot duty” https://na.industrial.panasonic.com/blog/what-pilot-duty-rating-how-it-obtained By the way, if you are driving your relay coil with a small mosfet, many of those have an "avalanche rating" and can safely absorb (dissipate) the ener

I only pilot paper airplanes and this isn't my area of expertise, but it looks like this potential requirement originates in NEMA ICS 5 "Industrial Control and Systems: Control Circuit and Pilot Devices" and perhaps also in IEC 62314 (Solid State Relays - as a "control" relay though the word 'pilo

I'm sure that in the past they have been privately amused at what some people have submitted for certification.  I recall that SEMKO were entertained by a TV set from another, nameless country, back in the 1970s, and if you can make a Swede laugh, you have won a major prize. John Woodgate OOO-

A web search for 'OPTOMOS pilot duty rating' produces useful information, including references to UL508. But it seems that these are contact ratings for switching inductive loads (other relay coils). Since you have the double zener to absorb the inductive kick, you would only need, it seems, th
