I would really like to review the problems that caused you to separate grounds. This is NOT normal practice and I am intrigued. Properly implemented, connection between logic and chassis dramatically reduces EME and improves immunity. My recommendation: Connect the grounds - CAREFULLY!

It depends... As I understand the FCC rules, there are expections built in. If your product fall under that category you're OK & probably don't have to test for US shipments. If NOT then you do need, as a minimum, conducted data @ 115V 60Hz to prove that you comply with the 55022 limits. HELP...

Doug, Can your consultant confirm the fact that A12 was voted down? What is his take on the applicability of A12? By the way, I have a copy of A12 & your consultant is right on the money...

Great Question!! As near as I can tell the following is true... 1. A12 WAS voted down. 2. Due to massive inertia from the ITE industry, national authorities are acting as if the amendment applied. Hope this helps

It has been generally reported that the cut-in date for EN60950 is Jan 1 1997. Has there been a change??

The best I have is that prEN50082-1 (1995) will be voted on this month in Cenelec. You may expect the edition to have a doa of Jan1 1997 based on previous publications.

Although you are correct - neither does the EMC Directive. BUT the EN for harmonics IS in the OJ and it would seem to me to be applicable. Any one else agree??

New ITE Immunity Standard

Does any one have any information on the new ITE immunity standard? I am particularly interested in the date of announcement and mandatory implementation date. Thank you.
