safety concern?

Dear friends, Is there a safety concern of using a 2-AWG lug for a 4-AWG wire, then using a crimping device to crimp the wire/lug in place? My colleages at work have different opinion regarding this issue and I would like to hear your experience/opinion. Thanks very much in advance. Best Regard
