This serial bus is not intended to be used external to a PWB. The II
means inter-IC. Noise/EFT immunity for I2C I/O external to the PWB is
problematic. Noise/EFT immunity for I2C external to an unit's chassis is,
well, even more problematic...
I am not aware of any CPU-based I2C or chipset

If I had a dime for every time a serial device or it's cable caused fits
during EFT...Well I'd still be on the EMC-PSTC group; but I'd be doing
it from the comforts of my woodshop at home because I wouldn't have to
work anymore. (Reference my recent rantings regarding mice,
keyboards...)
