With regards to the question of applicable EN standards for professional
audio equipment:
The title of EN60065 indicates "...for Household and Similar General Use".
The scope of 60065,
clause 1.1 indicates "In the absence of an appropriate standard for
professional apparatus likely
to be operated
Further to Mel Pedersen and Gabriel Roy's mails on the test standards
for Audio/Video equipment, my understanding is that, for products
that would fall under UL1492 in the US, the international standard
would be IEC 65, the latest version of which is IEC 65 : 1985,
Amendment 3 : 1992.
