Hi Matt
I tend to start it without the gui when EMC2 starts. Then when I need
the gui, I start a terminal and simply type classicladder.
If this is a run-in-place you'd probably want to start it using a
command like bin/classicladder rather than the installed executable.

Depending on the emc2 version you have it can be named max_joints.
(that was the old name before the 2.2.x release branch).
So if you still run a 2.1.x emc2 you'd get a problem.
But if you want to make sure just use "modinfo /path/to/motmod.ko"

Hi,
I am going to do a clean BDI install tonight.
Problem I have is hard lock up after 30 seconds to 5 min. I don't have
to be running EMC or anything but I am in the Gnome window manager.

It will run for quite a while in terminal mode. Not a Gno
Does anyone (or non-human cyber-entity) build nightly .deb files based
on CVS? I'm mainly thinking of Dapper, but Hardy will likely be handy in
the future.
My purpose is to be able to have "easy to install" updates or hot fixes,
in between released versions if required, without

Matt:
What version of EMC are you using? I think I fixed that problem in version 2.2.
