I don't see the mesa flash utility being a problem.. The 5i25 and
people are getting by (you get it when you download the support software
from mesa - I just checked and it is also in the 7i90 software
package). it will be nice when it is part of the linuxcnc repository
though..

Is there any significant danger in an immediate merge into master?

If you can't fix it, you don't own it.

This is the right way to do it.
Except i gave you the wrong branch name, use hm2-7i90-3 instead.
And be warned that this branch is base
I think you do something like
git branch --track hm2-7i90 origin/hm2-7i90
then
git checkout hm2-7i90
(from that point then)
cd src
./autogen.sh
(and so on)

What exact commands should execute to get sources, binaries of
"hm2-7i90" branch?
I am following instructions given in
http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Installing_LinuxCNC#Getting_the_source_with_git
but I am stuck with the line as in example:
git branch --track v2.5_branch origin/v2.5_
I use a dowel to touch off to the face of my spindle using the same
method as Andy, move the tool closer than the diameter of the dowel then
put the dowel between and jog out using 0.001" increments. And like Andy
when the dowel falls through I touch off the tool not the material. For

It is in the THCAD manual. But PCW has already said that you can run
the THCAD directly from the encoder 5V supply on the 7ii33. You don't
need a power supply.
THCAD pin 1 (top) -> 7i33 pin 43
THCAD pin 2 -> 7i33 pin

If you are changing tools mid-job then each tool that you are going to
use needs to be in a holder.
If you need to move tools between holders, then you will find it
easier
i need to know Amp that needs to use THCAD and i will buy any power supply.
i know that voltage regulator 7805 will drop 2-3 volts so i need 9v power
supply and amp to run THCAD.

Hi all
I am fairly new to using a cnc lathe and I need some guidance with touch
off procedures. I am busy with a turret changer but for now I only have
a QC tool post with a limited number of holders so I have to re-tool in
the middle of a job.
I have homing switches on both axis.
