If you have upgraded from 2.3.x to 2.4.6, your error could be simply
that you have not commented out the reference to
the emc.nml file in your .ini file
ie #NML_FILE = emc.nml
This throws loads of 'waiting for s.axes' faults in 2.4.x and refuses
to load.

Could be if he's mounted his drive from inside the Live CD and is using
his old config.

is not a hardware issue because I can run a 8.04 Live CD and everything
