I have (as many do) multiple e-mail addresses. I use Iceape
(SeaMonkey) with a number of these (mostly personal) addresses.
I uses Icedove (Thunderbird) with a number of (mostly business
oriented) addresses.
Until recently Debian had an Enigmail

functionality for both mail clients.
So far, so hunky dory.
Debian have moved to a different model of following upstream
packages
mozilla variants :(
So Andy is right that there are versioning issues with enigmail in
wheezy if you try to use it with iceape.
As one of the members of the debian project who is trying to keep
enigmail functional in debian, i'm not sure what the answer is. We
would love to continue to support
