Simple question: Right now Gnome is the default window manager. I'd

I like the quick hack way, I made a file in my home dir called .xinitrc
and put this in it:
exec enlightenment

Recently I've somehow enabled a mode in either enlightenment (0.16.7.1)
or the X server (Fedora Core 2, xorg-x11-6.7.0-9) where the number keys
on the keypad move the mouse by a pixel in whatever direction is
appropriate (4/8/6/2 move left, up, right and down respectively). Once

That is dependent on your distribution. Most all do their own way of 'default'
wm handling, and allow for switching from a menu item within the default

Are you booting into run level 5 (X login screen)? Run level 3 (console login

I found it very easy to check out e17
on Gentoo. Just add all the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries to
/etc/portage/package.keywords so that they aren't masked by the -*
keyword. Then emerge them all in the order specified on the E website,
and then download the CVS
I have seen this problem before, and found that my problem was a font not being
installed, or found.
Is it possible that the cache files held improper home directory path info
(since you copied your .enlightenment dir from another system? same username?

Hello,
note the part that says:
The denizens of #e do not look fondly on questions about build errors
from CVS. You have been warned!
and this not being a release, getting support for users will be hard...
