Since the new Anubis test appeared, I have been stuck in an endless loop
when trying to access enlightenment.org with Firefox.
No problem with Firefox 141.0.2 on Fedora 42. The OS build of Firefox
might be an issue.

Is it still a good idea to remove all of the old EFL/E files before
installing a new version or does the build script take care of that?

Bingo! I didn't think to check .cache for E-stuff when I rebuilt the

Did you accept the default configuration for hardware acceleration of
the compositing functions during the initial setup? If you did, log in
with the default window manager and delete the ".enlightenment"
directory from the home directory (note the initial period; it is a

You should have a "Mouse and Touchpad" utility. In Fedora, it is on the
"System Settings" panel which is on the "Applications/System Tools"
menu. Left-click the background image. The "System Settings" panel is a

Thanks for the reply. I removed the "TryExec" line from the

I think that this is new for 0.16.8. Is it possible to use this name
with 0.16.7? I have never found out where the initial value for
ECONFDIR is set. It looks like the executable has to be renamed to
"e16" as well. I

I have never formalized it as a theme; it is just a lot of new and
modified files in both /usr/share/enlightenment and ~/.enlightenment.
The docs for 0.16.8 indicate that there are changes to the configuration
file formats and warn against renamin

Note that this is new for 0.16.8. It does not work with 0.16.7 (which I
am using). It looks like getting my personal theme moved over to 0.16.8
may be a major headache. If so, I may just go to E17.

Can anyone tell me (or point to a reference) on how to get E16 to run a
