I think Alt+Esc will bring you a command prompt. I am not sure whether
it is there in e16.

Welcome!
On top, I'd reckon you need e16keyedit, which is your simplest way to get an
overview and control
over all these binding stuff. Indeed you can edit the txt file, but e16keyedit
does the job & shows
you what's possible and what's not.

Hello from a new e-user:
I've always used kde. Never could stand gnome (too much emphasis on
knowing where to right-click...) I've been hearing enough ranting
about kde4 that I decided now would be a good time to see if there was
a good alternative WM that I could stand...
I found a description
Thanks,
I just didn't see a link or e-mail on get-e to submit it to.
thanks,

All,
Where to start... I have been running E17 without any issues for a few
months now. Minor little hiccups, but over the last 2-3 months I have
started to see more stability and realiablity from E17's core. Minor issues
with some of the applications, was wondering if anyone has any advice
Do your backgrounds appear in Emblem?
If so, to select one you first choose in the small thumbnail and then
click on the bigger. That should change your desktop background. On 8/8/05, Gabriel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

I was just answering a few emails from gentoo mailing list before this one.. so I messed up a little bit.
You're right. Gentoo is not in any way a pre-requisite.

Update on this one...
Many thanks for all the replies on and off-list. I have been taking them
on-board but I've been up to my neck in work.
Okay, so I'm still on E16.7 but it's working really well and I have evidence
working really nicely too so that's where I'm staying right now.
I have since

I have E16.7.1 co-existing with E17 on my Gentoo Linux box... the
installer automatically put E17 into /usr/local/bin, whereas E16 is in
/usr/bin.
