This decision is not going to be reversed for consumer Firefox.
Businesses should use ESR, which has been the Mozilla guidance for years.

There is no solution for this in Firefox. You either have to use the CCK2
or if you want to use AutoConfig directly, using code I have that reenables
distribution/bundles.

After Firefox 44 is released, Firefox 43 will be EOL and no further updates
will be released specifically for this version. As this is the enterprise
list, I will point out that you can try the Firefox ESR builds, which do
receive minor releases. This will at least buy you a few cycles
