Now Dell is also selling the Digital Rebel /w lens for 999 - 10%(until 9/30/03)
no S/H charge by phone.
You can email/call the same people as the lens deal.
However I think I'll wait also till the $500 price range. My scanner still does

Maybe because the camera also comes with a 18-55mm lens.
Dont forget about the 10% coupon(this week).
$899+tax seems like a good deal to me. Any one know of a better deal?

Its my understanding that the frontier converts anything it gets to 300dpi
before it processes and it magnifies the image by 6% as it prints.
If you give them an image for a 4x6 at 300dpi plus 6% that would be
6*300*1.06=1908 x 4*300*1.06=1272.
The frontier would then rescale it down to 300dpi fo

I seem to remember reading they cut off 6%. 6% does not seem very much, but you
can sure miss it.
In the past I've shrunk my image 6% and create a canvas the full
size with the image in the middle. However you do loose 6% of your
resolution.

Works great especially since this camera does not have a dedicated
botton to do the job. However it does not work when the lens is
in MF mode. Just when I need DOF preview the most. So I end up setting some
CF setting to get DOF preview to work with the AE lock '*' button.

I like the way the Kenko 12mm with the 28-135IS its just enough to
get as close as you need with that lens. It still can auto focus

The only down side with gray, that I can see, is the re-sale value on bodies.
Buyers, like on ebay, dont seem to like gray and you may not get as much
for it when it is time to sell.
This, of cource, is just a problem on bodies with differnt names like
elan II and EOS 50.

Done these with a 12mm kenko tube at f8 on a 28-135 at the 135 end.
I can get as close as 1 1/2 - 4 in. from 28 - 135 mm. I get the best
magnification at the 28 end. I uses manual focus on these, but it can do
auto focus with some searching.
The only other altenative is the Canon 8200, which you should be able
to get for around $200 now. Some say its better then the epson 870.
I have one and like it. The inks can be refilled cheaply. The jury
is still out on archivability though.

Usually that lower iso the better. Try Kodak Royal gold 100, Fuji Reala
100 or Kodak Supra 100.
Kodak Royal gold 100 should be easiest to find.
Try a good camera store or mail order for the rest.

Consequently I have a spare EF 28-105.
It will be 2 years old in march.

have a Best Buy near you, perhaps you could check it out first hand.
