Does anyone know if the 300D and the 10D share the same shutter(physically)?

Hi Miha
I lost part of this thread, but I understand you bought a 300D. Are you
happy? You think you might feel limitated by its features (or you are
missing a 10D)?
I'm a happy owner of a Eos3 and I make only slides. I'm looking at the

My Eos3 has a CF which sets a safety shift when using flash for not
overpassing the minimum shutter time.

The D60 has been discontinued officially. Canon has produces a certain
number (referring to what has been selling on the D30) of bodies then
stopped production. Unfortunatley request was much higher than calculated so
now they are finished. At the PMA we'll see the new generation.

I've read about rumours on a future D80 which will replace the D60. It will
be based on a Eos3. You can read more on

Hi ti all the list
I own two flashes 550ex and I'd like to know how to read the ratio numbers:
I mean when I set a ratio between group A and group B of 1:4 does it mean
that B is 4 times stronger than A, and at the opposite 4:1 means that A is
four times B. Am I correct? Did somebody try and studi
I think that exposition is set for an optimal use of slides. As far as I
know some manufactors keep a little underexposition for a better saturation
on slides, so if you are a big slide user just keep it as it is.

Hi Chip
no I don't apply any filter to the scanning process, I just import pictures
in raw format and then work them with Photoshop5.
I've noticed nearly no grain with slides but a lot in scanning negatives.
With these I usually scan at the maximum (4000 dpi) with FARE on. This
utility helps reall

Hi Robert
I just got the same scanner but did not find any problem is tone
reprodutions.
Are you using 16M colours on your video card?
It may a problem of palette conversion. Try to check your profiles (on
photoshop and on the video card drivers).

The 550 EX is bigger, more powerfull, more expensive and can be a master
unit.
There is also a 380Ex unit which came out together with the Elan II: also
E-TTL and should cost less, no wireless, less power.

Bokeh is something that makes the difference in photos (the same difference
you have from taking snaps in a cloudy day and in a sunny day: colors and

I currently use this lens for portraits (I 'only' have a 28-70 and 70-200
f2.8 lenses) and the results are really shouting quality. If you manage
having a morning or evening sun you can really see a 3D subject on a
beatifull background.
