BTW, folks, the default (read, latest!) LinkSys firmware does in fact handle
port forwarding, QoS, and a bunch of the other stuff mentioned here as geek
requirements :) I know the default firmware is something most of you will
spit on... but for the record it is not pure evil IMO. It *does* work

Sometimes when yum (like apt-get for Fedora) has crashes it leaves behind a
file named yum.pid in /var/lock that needs to be deleted before it will run
again. Might be worth a look in /var/lock to see if there is anything like
that for apt-get.
