Jerry, The Valence battery rated for 14.8v max input and I’ve monitored the cars charge output at the battery- never above 14.7 and that’s only when outside temperatures are cold. It actually ramps the voltage down as temperatures go up. Perhaps you meant that Volt modules behaved that way?

Hi Cory and All,                   Understand the max voltage on the 12vdc module is only 12.5 vdc so likely unless you changed it and I don't know how you would, , it'll be badly overcharged.  They are robust and likely survive a few months but if the charging voltage is  not

I really like these batteries.  However they only put out 30 amps per string.  That is 10 strings to get 300 amps continuous. I don't think you need that.  However be careful here. That is 1859 pounds.  $13,000.00160 to 200 mile range.  5 strings might get you the 100 mile range and 150 amp

I’m wondering if you might be better off buying a used Chevy Volt or Leaf pack to get to your goals for a reasonable cost? I’m seeing the Gen1 Voot packs sell at wreckers for around $2k, but I’ve seen them as low as $1300. I also bought one of those EBay Valence batteries that I have now used

Any Lithium Ion chemistry will do that with the same voltage and amp hour. I like LiFePO4 since they are safer Sent from my iPhone > On Jan 16, 2019, at 6:54 AM, David Delman via EV wrote: > > I am interested in improving the range of my eLectric DeLorean. Presently > with 13 Sears PM1 12v

I have read that Trojan will soon sell a Lithium-Ferrous drop-in replacement for the old 12-volt lead acid batteries. I am so ready to switch.. On Wed, Jan 16, 2019 at 6:10 AM David Delman via EV wrote: > I am interested in improving the range of my eLectric DeLorean. Presently > with 13 Sears

[EVDL] 2019 Lithium Recommendations

2019-01-16 Thread David Delman via EV
I am interested in improving the range of my eLectric DeLorean. Presently with 13 Sears PM1 12v 100ah AGM lead acid batteries (975 pounds) I can get 40 miles if I am very careful. I am interested in getting 100+ miles if possible. Any suggestions? Thank you, David Delman
