Events for definitions using that hook are only created when the "clear
shelf" process is used by staff. You'll want to set up a hold where the
shelf_expire_time is before the start of today (where "today" is when
you're testing) and then run the clear-shelf process from the hold shelf
Ah, gotcha, sorry for the confusion!
It seems like it should have worked with that cancel cause, but maybe you
do need to change the date. I saw you have the granularity set to Daily, do
you know when notices with that granularity typically run?

I do want Shelf Expiration not Hold Expiration. But I didn't wait for the
hold to actually Expire on the shelf. I just canceled the hold and chose
Shelf Expiration as the cancel cause. I will try again. Thank you!
