For most scientists and especially physicists, "God," just gets in the way. There's a Buddha quote that goes, "If you are on your path through the forest, and the Buddha stands in your way, strike him down." Meaning, in my interpretation :-) that if you have a better way, don't let me stop you.

The numbers are way off. I suspect there may only be a few thousand planets with complex life in any galaxy. I would then say that given life has been here in complex form for 600 million years and that Homo sapiens have been here 100,000 years this means at any given time using this as a guide
