Actually, I do shut down Evolution before ending the gnome session. As
for the lockup problem, I guess it could be related to the AMD/AGP bug -
I don't recall the lockups under RH 6.2.

The db3 file is just a hash of the vcards. You can just write a simple db3 app to export them, or even use the tools that come with db3 (such as db_dump).
