If I build gal from the evolution-1-2-branch and gal from HEAD, can I
install them both and have them co-exist, or will they overwrite each
other's files?
How about the same question for gtkhtml?

Would it be possible for a Ximian developer to let the list know when
the port of Evolution to gnome2 has reached a point that it compiles? I
just hate not using the absolute "bleeding edge". :-)

Doesn't help me any with Gnome 1.4; OTOH I've always used Nautilus and
right clicked on a .htm/.html
It will probably be difficult not to hear the collective sigh of relief
from all of us.

They don't overwrite each other. The 1-2-branch still installs headers

What version of imap are you using? I currently use cyrus and it works
great with evo 1.0.8. I set up the altnamespace to yes in the
imapd.conf file for cyrus and it makes the imap folders appear to be at
the same level as the INBOX, as opposed to being beneath it.
What this allows me to do is s

Is there a way to get rid of old calendar entries automatically? For
example, I want to delete all entries from more than 1 month ago. Can
this be done in one shot, rather than having to delete each one
individually?

Hello All
I was wondering if there is a way to change the columns in all the folders at the same time. I have about 40 folders, and I really don't want to go to each of them and individually add a size and received column. Any way to do this?
Thanks

When I go to View --> Current View, I only have four options:
Messages
By Subject
By Sender
By Status
I do not have a Define Views option :(

Hi,
i have changed my system locale from english to german for testing
purposes and went back to english now. All menues and applets in gnome
are back to english, but my Evolution 1.1.90 has mixed menue and dialog
entries, partly in german, partly english. The menue bar for example

"Define Views" is at the bottom. Not sure if it's supported in your
version (1.08) of Evolution, you might need to wait until 1.2.
Please look in the list archives, maybe you will find your answer. This
has been discussed a few times recently. The archives have no easy
search facility yet, but

no, there is no way,
Okay, it seems that there are still some emails that don't display
properly... I've attached one that shows only the header (body appears
blank, but viewing the source shows the message). I forwarded it as an
attachment since that seems to be the only way to retain the message's
original format.
Hello,
how can I manage the external viewers used by Evolution? I've noticed that
.doc files are presented with the option to open with OpenOffice Writer. I'd
like to be able to edit these external viewers to extern to ppt, mpg etc.
I'm using Evolution 1.0.8 on KDE, RH8.
Cheers.

Janus,
You don't have to edit files to change that setting-- just pick the "Emacs-like" shortcuts from the Composer control panel (if you're using Evolution 1.1.x, choose Settings-->Preferences, pick "Composer Preferences" and it's the first item in the "General" tab).

I could see it in the preview pane, but it was blank in a

Hi,
I'm running Evolution 1.0.8 on Debian sid, over KDE 3.0 (sometimes) and Gnome2 (other
times).
Evolution is an amazingly good email and groupware client in almost every respect
except one - speed.
For one thing, evolution takes about 10 seconds to start up (on a 1.5GHz Athlon XP).

I would like to know what the official stance will be on supported
distributions for the upcoming Evolution 1.2. I noticed that after
1.2beta2, a 1.2RC1 release was not made for SuSE 7.3, the distro I
happen to be running on my home computer. I was testing it out on my
personal machine so I didn't
