This is exactly the same problem I am having. I just built Evolution
1.2.1 and I am having the same thing happen when I try to send mail via
SMTP. No error messages. The mail simply goes to my Outbox. Hopefully, we
can get some help.

I want to write a little script to backup ~/evolution.
I currently tar and compress the entire directory and the resulting
files are about 35MB in size.
What files can safely be skipped and will result in a considerable
reduction of size?
All mail-folders contain the following files:

Some mail readers have a setting for threaded mail reading which expand
threads with unread mail, while collapsing others. What is the chance
of implementing this in evolution?

The "pipe to shell command" option doesn't parse the arguments or option flags (i.e. "spamassasin -f") which you would need to use. That's why I suggested the shell script.
If you have good results without using the shell script, let me know; I didn't have any luck with it, though.

I think he meant "-e" which is the same as "spamc -c" returning a
boolean value instead of writing flags.

That sounds useful indeed. Well, what I usually do on big mailing lists
is usse the View->Hide Read Messages, which only shows me messages I
haven't read before. Very handy.
That means it also hides the previous parts of each thread, but if
necessary I can do View->Show Hidden Msgs to check them

And an even better question is how to get the weather info to display (when
you can get it) in _real_ numbers, like Fahrenheit and not Celsius! ;-)

I like the reply-to-list feature...that is cool...however, if i am
replying to a list i would like that list email there so that i do not
get tons of double sends...to me and then list...

I'm running an OpenLDAP service (2.0.25) on a FreeBSD 4.7 server, and
connecting to it with Evolution 1.2.0 on a Linux workstation
(Debian/unstable). I've added Evolution's schema to slapd.conf on the
server:
include /usr/local/etc/openldap/schema/evolutionperson.schema
and can use Evolution's
