I have fiddled around with the filters and fixed some errors. That has
cleared up some of the repetition, but one list still does provide two
copies. It must be because both the list and individuals are c.c'd. I

How about changing the list to have the Reply: address be the list.
Then a Reply will suffice. Now we must use Reply to All in order to
have the list copied. This results in email to the original author and
to the list where a message to the list, alone, would suffice.
