To solve your Mint install woes, say 'strace evolution' and find out
what it was doing just b4 the crash.
It might be easy in Mint to go back to a previous version of Evolution.
I would find out how to do that.

There a new mail in my Gmail account,
and when I have click on Send/Receive to Get messages,
Evolution is Not Downloading them, even sent a test message,
to myself and not received as of yet.
All was fine...but not now.

first: Expunging the trash folder sometimes, cause a error message...
but of late, its deleting a folder, can't delete folder.
There nothing in the folder, So what would be causing the problem ?

problems about authentication. I made some progress only to reach a
deadend.
Also, I believe I've read that the MAPI protocol is published (which is
remarkable given the way MS usually operates). Believe me, I would be
much happier if I never had to deal with an MS server of any kind.

I have the correct user id (not my e-mail name), password, and domain.
I've done the necessary

The mapi plugin shows up and I've checked it but it won't stay checked
and when I try to create a mapi e-mail account there is no mapi option
to choose. I'm trying this on an i386 Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop running
Fedora 8 (with evolution installed).

is being updated (this has stopped now because I've
disabled bogofilter - see below).
I've also disabled bogofilter and installed spamassasin and enabled it
in Evolution. I can see that it is checking the mail for junk but only
if I highlight the junk - but like
configured?

Evolution no longer works - it can't access Exchange 20007 - no one on
the list seems particularly alarmed by this. One would think that
eventually, there will only be Exchange 2007 servers.
Supposedly a newer version of Evolution will work with 2007 (or the

I started evolution for the first time, all my old
e-mails were intact as was the contact address book. The only thing I
had to re-do was setting up the e-mail server info. Everything worked
perfectly - evolution has never crashed (in fact it seems to work better
in FC6 than it did in FC4).

ogin using gdm, the
gnome-keyring-daemon is automatically started up and the environment is
setup properly. I can now start evolution simply by clicking on it. The
keyring is already unlocked simply by logging in.
It works great.

Has anyone got any suggestion on what I could done to deactivate Send
and Receive and how to get them working again. I had to install
