Hi everybody
Can anybody tell me how to utilise the button on the top tool bar that
says"Move selected messages to the archive folder for the account"? I
do not have an archive in my folder list by default, creating one does
not make this function usable. I can't see this mentioned in the
"Help"

Have you set the Archive folder in the accou
.
I've had a good look over this but can't see what I'm missing. Any
further insights welcomed.

Hi again everybody,
I finally worked this out. I have to enable the 'general' archive
function from edit>preferences and then 'mail preferences' at the
bottom. It works following this.
Sorry if this is what you were telling me but I misse it.

turned up nothing. The setup in preferences is a bit confusing:

Please, could you always say which version of Evolution you are using -
things like this do change over time. It would also be helpful in this
case that we knew what sort of account you are using.

Archiving is covered on the "Mail folder locations" page in the user
documentation, which can be reached via "Account Management"
OK; fair enough -- there is some information there. But it's pretty sparse
and does not talk about local directory storage at all. The worst part (for
me) was that a search for the word 'archive' turned up nothing whatsoever.

evolving. Version is important.
