changing the IP address of an exchange box has no effect on it's operation,
but you should bear in mind:
- DNS
you may need to add a new MX record in your external DNS and it will take a
day or two to propogate out around the world. usually this is not an issue
because there will be a firewall
I imagine the only problems would stem from NAME > IP resolution.

Yes, but only when our DNS admins were doing what they were told and when!
Also research anyone or any server that may be using host or lmhost files.
