removable disk. I have been clicking the System state and the three
boxes in the Exchange Group (log files, Mailbox and Public stores) As

just the large databases. When I check on the backups, I see the backup
rate getting slower as time goes by and I suppose it times out. I use

Your plan is exactly the right thing to do.
You have to first create a recovery storage group and a recovery database
within that storage group.
Search for Exchange Server 2003 Disaster Recovery Operations Guide, which we
used to refer to as the DROG, for obvious reasons. It goes through this
Just curious... define large databases as compared to your small databases.

mailbox, and the size limitations of the mailbox you can use PowerShell to
import mail from the user mailbox in the Recovery database to a folder in the

We're using Netbackup here, and just recently implemented GRT (Granular
Recovery Technology). We've been getting good backups the whole time, and now
are able to recover to the individual message level. We have a 3 node DAG here.

Hi Guys
Thanks for your input.
My particular user seems to have lost all his retained email from
2009-2012, around 20,000 messages.
I think we are going to try and create an identical setup in a separate
network and install Exchange in disaster recovery mode. Once this is
working, I can then
This might have been covered already, but has Symantec discussed when Exchange
2013 will be 100% supported? We're onboarding Exchange 2013 starting in July.
It would be awesome to know if Exchange 2013 will be supported by then.
I would love to have the scripts as a just in case. Thanks in

We temporarily used a smarthost that the ISP provided. Then we had to manually
get delisted from a half dozen RBLs before we could switch back.
