Correct me if I am wrong but the links below should work with Exch 2K but will not work with Exch 5.5 -Original Message- From: Larry Greenblatt [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 09, 2001 10:36 AM To: MS-Exchange Admin Issues Subject: RE: Forwarding Links to Messages in pub

RE: Exchange SMTP Routing

We are running Exch 5.5 sp4 on a mix of 2k sp1 and nt4 sp6. We have a couple of dual processor nt4 sp6 boxes in the DMZ with port 25 from outside open to them only. These servers have Trend InterScan Virus Wall and Trend InterScan E-Manager for Virus protection and content/attachment filtering.

when a server has been online for over 45 days. In our environment we have found that a good reboot is something that NT and Exchange enjoy. good luck, Rick Contier -Original Message- From: Schart, Vlastimil [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 2:27 AM To: MS

RE: Create Reports for Exchange 5.5 mailboxes

2001-12-08 Thread Rick . Contier
I used to check the last login date and anything not logged into for some time would be marked for deletion. Once Exchange antivirus software was installed this no longer worked. Antigen and Trend both use the service account to login to the IS to scan all mailboxes every time the services start

for future reference. You can run the perfwiz in verbose mode and it will give you manu more options than normal (probably about 50 or more). I suggest checking it out on a test box first. the command is perfwiz -v. lots of cool options. Enjoy, Rick -Original Message- From: Leblanc, S

Exactly my point. I stopped going after that parameter (LAST_LOGIN) once the antivirus software was installed. I am looking for a parameter procedure or application that I can use to flag inactive mailboxes for purging and removal from the messaging environment. Rick -Original Message-

Auto creation of Distribution Lists

2001-10-18 Thread Rick Contier
I just wanted to put a question out there. I have been trying to figure out if there is a way to have distribution lists update automatically from information in the directory. I am running Exch 5.5 sp4 on both NT4 and Win2K. Any assistance would be appreciated. List Charter and FAQ at: http:/

u create a user you add them to the containers that you want that could be used in 3 or 4 DL's and they would update "automatically". Other than that, a DL is the administrators job to maintain. It can't think for you... DJ -----Original Message- From: Rick Contier [mailto

I was wondering if there was a way to trigger the addition of a mail user to a DL by a field such as Office or State without going to the Distribution Lists tab in the users mailbox properties. -Original Message- From: Don Ely [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, October 18, 2001 9:

One other thing that may be of note, If you are running 5.5 enterprise edition and need to install OWA you will need to rename the exe to setup.exe from srvmin.exe or srvmax.exe. Otherwise it will not let you install OWA on Win2K. Straight from MS's mouth. -Original Message- From: Mart

As long as new users are added to existing DLs once a week through a backend process the company will not have nearly as many users missing mass distributions. I just did an export and there are 350 mailboxes that are not members of any DL. This tool will be of great benefit. Thanks, Rick
