I agree, well said Ed, apart from the bit where you put PSS on a pedestal.
You must have some amazing guys in the states. Here in the UK PSS is not
quite at the same level. For heaven's sake they nearly gave ME a job!! And
who do Microsoft get to look after there Internal systems? Outside
Ditto here.
I've called PSS quite a few times, and I'm called a, gasp, consultant!
And a re-certified MCSE on w2k. Double-gasp! I know William has
already mentioned this, but I'd just like to let everyone know that I
didn't write the source code either. ;-)

Yes, this list can be considered a tool, much like tech support.
Would I accuse you of not being able to do your job participating here?
Probably not.
I don't care if your company has ALL the MCSE's. Very few of them wrote the
friggin' products. The diversity of Microsoft's products alone
Agreed 100%. Used to work around people that wouldn't ask for help as they
saw it as a flaw. Don't understand the perspective at all.

I don't agree with your premise that if you can't solve something on your
own you must be stupid. If management believes that it may be party due to
you propagating the idea. Additionally, having MCSEs on staff is not
something I'd brag about here. I know lots of certificate holders that
can't
Just remind me to never order services from your company. I'd much
rather go with a company who know's when to spend $250 as opposed to
sitting on the crapper for hours writing on toilet paper.
ANYBODY who knows what they are doing, knows when to call for
assistance. ANYBODY who doesn't think
Very well said.

Yes. Since we're are salaried and very well compensated (according to mgmt),
our time is not an additional expense. Hey, we're a startup, surviving the
dot com crash.
