on hard drive and format)

Thanks for the pointer. The problem was the cdrom* links to hd*
not to scd*. The only thing else was that the perms on the scd* needed
to allow world read so anybody could play cds. I didn't see that on
the web site, though I didn't look to closely.

Could anyone give this one a shot? I'm trying to run quake 3 arena on
mdk 7.2 beta 3 with a Matrox video card and 3D acceleration with
XFree3.3.6. Quake starts up ok and I can select options, watch the demo
