months for a list of mandrakes rpm problems with 7.2
also, I think there is a url called rpmhelp.org (could be .com, can't
remember) that can help you, (they have a list of updated 7.2 rpms, so they
may have cups

Remember, if the problem is the network card not working, you can go and get
a 20 dollar realtec card from a computer shop and it will work at 10 or 100
speed in either windows or linux and it will do it in linux with no driver
necessary, (linux supports it out of the box, I speak of the rtl813
Fix:
- Close the applications you don't need loaded at startup.
- Open ksysguard and see if those applications are really closed.
- Exit KDE activating the option "Save session".
BTW, there are a Autostart folder in ~/.kde/Autostart
I don't know if there are more startup folders or archives.

I did some updates from cooker and now when I run the software manager to try
and install a package I get "bad rpm" message. However, when I drop to the
cl and do an rpm -Uvh it installs just fine. Has anyone else encountered

I agree, but what if you just want it to list all the mfgrs and you

I'm using a LM7.2 machine to store log from some Cisco routers in my network. I
observed that the logs weren't being rotated nor compressed. So I read the man
pages and changed the /etc/logrotate.conf, so now the Cisco log files are
rotated and compressed.

I've been trying to build XFree86-4.1.0-8mdk.src.rpm under Mandrake 7.2.
I had to comment out the -fno-merge-constants option to gcc, since
gcc-2.95.3 doesn't seem to support it. I used the 2.2.19 headers
and not 2.4.3.
The rpm -bc fails with a missing symbol in libGLU.1.3 reference
