Hi, I recently jumped to the 2.4.8-24mdk kernel in cooker because of the slight stupidity of shipping mandrake 8.0 (with the 2.4.3 and reiserfs 3.6.13), that has a known and reproduceable bug in that it WILL corrupt the filesystem over time. Anyhow, after upping initscripts to 6.27 startup hangs

I am trying to install the source and headers for my installed kernel (2.4.3) but Mandrake Software Installer insists on installing the 2.4.7 source and headers. When I try to install it by hand I get 'error: failed dependencies: kernel-headers = 2.4.7-12.3mdk is needed by kernel-source-2.4.7-12.

Let's see if DrakFont even installed them at all. DrakFont put my Windows fonts in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/drakfont/ To find these fonts, I logged in as root and did an "updatedb" from the command line and then did a "locate arial.ttf" Did DrakFont at least do this? David -Original Mess
