On the ongoing saga of these problems, it seems like it's reiserfs the
one to blame for this. I got a reiserfs kernel panic starting qmail
today, so i backed up the /var/qmail tree, removed it and restarted it

configuration use for:
Notify (sound) program
Mail fetch/check program
purely for POP3/IMAP servers?
