I am hoping that someone can help me out with an automount / autofs problem.
I use autofs4, which works just fine for my dvd drive, cdrw drive, an old
windows partition on my HD, and an smbmount of a windows partition on another
machine on my lan.
However, it just doesn't seem to work for my f

Hello,
In Mandrake 8.0, I had no problem with remote printing via cups.
After upgrading to 8.1, I can't print from remote hosts. Local
printing is fine.
I don't even know what the queue is called.
I have a simple default setup on the parallel port on my new
system. Is it on /dev/lp0 or /dev/lp
Hi everybody.
I am thinking about upgrading my computer sometime shortly after 8.2 comes
out.
Right now I'm looking at MSI K7T266 pro2 or the pro2 RU. The RU version
has on-board RAID which is a minus in my mind, but it also has USB 2.0 and
I'm hoping that is a plus.
Does anybody on the list
I'm having the same problem...

Randy,
The problem is that your friend is trying to send directly from a

Hello Davida et al,
I have installed sussesfully qt3, kdelibs, kdebase, kdevelop. But things
was bad with kdesdk.
With kdesdk, "./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3b2" was ok. But "make all"
got this error:
"""222
ting kbabeldict
make[4]: Leaving directory `/tmp/kde3b2/kd
QT and KDELIBS are among the largest. KDEBase if pretty large, too. After that, things
are so bad. On my Athlon 1.1Gig with a ton of Memory, I can compile all of what I need
from KDE in about 6 hours.

Hi Guys!
Can you guys recommend some good firewalls?
I'm looking for something with pretty good logs, and maybe even something
that will report how much traffic has gone through the box. Also if that's
not enough something that can do NAT. I will have a email server and web
server behind this bad

Hi all,
I kept tinkering with the card till I finally got it to work. Someone
suggested the following-
modprobe aha152x
alias aha152x io=0x140,irq=10,id=7 (or) aha152x=0x240,10,7 etc...
or in lilo.conf
append="aha152x=0x140,11,7 or ...
I put in /etc/modules.conf- options aha152x io=34

First it is recommended to have a a separated /boot partition
then you have to create at least TWO partition for root (/)

Any one compiled qt3 + kdeblibs + kdebase beta2 from source?
I am trying to do this but it took me 2 days for qt3 + kdelibs to be
completed on a pen3 600Mhz, 128RAM, 256MB swap.
How about kdebase, kdenetworks, kdevelop and others? How long does do
they take?
Many thanks

I configured the postgres DB to start with :
/usr/bin/postmaster -o -i -D ${PGDATA}
which I manually start with the "-d 5 & "@ the end.
The "psql" commands works fine locally.
pg_hda.conf contains the following line :
# The same, over Unix-socket connections:

# local all 192.168.1
