Thanks for the tip! I'll go try this out right away...I've been having
constant stability problems with Mandrake and my new asus k7n8x deluxe
nforce2 board. Hopefully this will help.
Do you have any suggestions for a good lilo config? Any special kernel
options to pass?
Thanks,

I've been using the xfce4 beta here as well, though I've hacked around
with the setup a bit, so I'm using the gnome panel rather than the xfce
panel. That gets around the menu issue (sort of). But it's not a
'true' xfce desktop then I suppose.
It's really great though, I've loved it so far. And

can suspend/hibernate with it b/c the model I have, 2805-s503, suspends
to a file on the FAT32 partition under windows, and this apparently
isn't supported yet
I tried what you mentioned in this thread (I've been following it b/c
normal suspends don't work on my computer). However, when I uncomment
the line in the suspend file, and add suspend=/dev/hda6, my laptop will
suspend on its own 2 or 3 times just during startup (??), each time

preemptive kernel available at least semi-officially for 9.1. I think
the multimedia kernel has the preempt patch, and there may be another
one. They're either in the main distro or contribs, I'm not sure which.
Hope this helps
Thanks for the pointers. It apparently is a known bug, sorry to have
wasted list space on something like this! The GPL flash library looks
quite cool, I'll have to check that out...
Thanks again for your help,
