Dear Nick,
Though I don't actually know the solution to the
problem you are having with KDE lockups, I will
suggest not using a CD-RW drive to play audio
CDs. The read/write heads on a CD-RW are much

Since you're using an Atapi system, one thing
which could be causing your grief is if you have
your BIOS set to cable select the master/slave
drives (as opposed to using jumper

Dear George All,
I've also had the same problem, and I'm still
waiting for it to be resolved. I ordered the
download disks and pre-ordered the Powerpack on
October 4. I know that the Powerpack isn't ready,

Dear Jason,
Which filesystem are you running (ext2, ext3,

will show whatever settings are current, either

Is there a good online reference guide to all

You can save yourself a great deal of trouble
(now and in the future) if you learn how to boot
with grub rather than lilo. If you make a grub
boot floppy, you can rescue your system and then
either install grub to the hard drive
(recommended) or resurrect lilo.
