This seems to be a shame, no?
IMHO Mandrake 6.1 gave the least errors and was excellent for first timers

Im, running Mandrake 6.1
I wanted to add Qvwm to my sessions at login on kdm
From a root session of KDE control panel I and add Qvwm to the sessions
Also I have added the appropriate line to /etc/X11/xdm/Xsessions
with the full path to the qvwm . After restarting the X server it comes up in
