But it still effed up when I told it I did not care,
I was using gcc3 so I re-installed and used
gcc2.96 and it still effed up.
I can't compile anything at all with these 2 compiler versions.
I just do not understand.

You can downgrade your compiler to gcc 2.95.3, but I don't think that's
the solution to the problem. What are you trying to compile, and why is it
failing? BTW if it's MPlayer you can get around
I've got gcc-2.95.2 package from rpmfind.net. Did you ever try it?
