Whoever was requesting information about getting the sound working with the SOLO-1 chipset, just go to http://www.alsa-project.org and get the latest driver. I just got the sound working on my laptop with minimal effort. Notes on what I did, I used the --with-sequencer=yes and --with-debug=detect
