I (deliberately) didn't set up a /boot partition. I boot to Win98 by default, which brings up a menu in config.sys to boot the linux kernel via loadlin.exe. I will set up a /boot part when next I can reformat and reinstall Win98. I might have to postpone linux troubleshooting until then, and
