Actually it doesn't matter if they're named hda and hdd...of which I've
had already. Linux doesn't care about that. It sounds as though theres
incompatability between the PC and the Mdk8.0beta software. Which isn't
surprising. Thats why they call it "beta". :)
What type of Hardware are you
Brian,
This is one heck of a hardware config...LOTS of goodies...you may just
want to wait for the final release of Mdk8.0 to come out this summer. I
have a feeling that it will be much better behaved by then.

I dont know, I wonder if something with lilo
may have changed. I have seen other posts on
Mandrakes mailing lists that people cant make
a bootdisk and/or lilo wont install for them
Do we all have some other problem
I don't know what other problem I could have

There is a warning stating that Mandrake 8.0b1 will not install on a Western
Digital HDD or a KT133B or MVP3 chipset.

I have been having a heck of a time trying to install Mandrake 8b on my
PII with 2 hd's. hda (was) all win, while hdc was all linux. I have tried
with Mandrake 8b and Redhat 7.1b, and get the same ending. It
appears that they do not like to be installed on the second drive
properly. Mandrake 8b

I'm not sure about this, but maybe you need drives on hda, and hdb
instead of hda and hdc?
