Dear Ronald:
As I reported to the list about two weeks ago, thanks to Ramon Gandia, I
found out that I didn't need to use either fetchmail or sendmail to
configure PINE. You need only to confiugre the .pinerc file that is
created the first time you launch PINE. Once again, here is my copy of
.pin

I was out of town for two days, so I finally gathered your
phone messages and your email.
Did you get PINE to work? If you are using it with a POP
server you need to manually tweak the .pinerc file. It is
easy, but no directions are provided.
Let me know if you still need help on this, and I w

Dear R_Yeo:
Thank you so much for writing. Appreciate your taking the time.
No, I configured Fetchmailconf as user, not as root.
Thanks again. I may need to call on you again if I haven't solved the
problem yet.

I'd say you want to use fetchmail; it can periodically download your
email from a pop server. See http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/fetchmail/.
You should start by installing the fetchmail rpm (if it isn't
installed already), and then read the web/man pages. It essentially
comes down to executing fetchm

Dear Denis:
Thanks so very much for helping with the last stage in configuring Pine,
namely, the printer.

I like using "enscript" for that. Your mileage may vary. Below
