I remember using the switch when I compiled mplayer. As I recall, there
was a warning that basically sai
as I understand it, 2.96 from redhat and 2.96 from mandrake share only the
name,, they are different and mandrake's does not suffer from the faults of
the redhat one..
it seems that the package is just looking for the version number, you need
to remove the check for it from the script.
