When vaccinating for FeLV, can I go behind the neck or does it have to be in the rear flank, or big the tail junction?
Cherie
Leg. FeLV and rabies vaccines are the ones most associated with VAS, so need to put them somewhere that can be amputated if god forbid that is needed.

Are you doing it yourself? I think it is intramuscular but really am not sure at all. I think it is in the upper leg but again am not sure. A vet should know, and those who vaccinate at home on this list should know.

We can't vaccinate for rabies here in Texas, but do do our own Upper
Respiratory and leuk vaccines. Our vet said we can do just under the
skin. We do them as low on the rear leg as we can where there is good
flesh contact (too far down there is no "meat"). To help us remember
what vaccine was do
Rear Flank. for all shots

Hi Cherie,
I know my cats don't feel good for a day or two after they get
vaccines. Some cats react this way, if it continues longer than that
then I would worry, but if it is only for a day or two that is normal.
Fred especially seem to not be himself, so I'm glad his bloodwork got
